Kinship

Front Room is thrilled to present a work in progress, brand new production as part of our 2025 local commissions project. Kinship is a debut play by cousins Kaia Hickson and Mary Johnson. It is a heartbreaking and comedic exploration of abandonment and loss, using music, puppetry… and rubber rings.

Hands of the Heron

Bristol-based psychfolk trio Hands of the Heron is a long-running collaboration between Bec Garthwaite, Beth Roberts & Claire Vine , each of whom brings a signature songwriting style to the band. Moving effortlessly between sparse choral folk and shimmering instrumental textures, their interlocking vocal harmonies are a constant thread running through the various hues of their dreamlike, mercurial songs.

Imaginary Landscapes

Join us here at Front Room for an exquisite fusion of words and music. Imaginary Landscapes brings together the spellbinding poetry of acclaimed poet, author and raconteur, Chris Tutton, with international award-winning harpist, Lucy Nolan, in a stunning programme of words by Chris and semi improvised music by Lucy.

Tarren

This is New-Folk, and this trio’s unique sound is captivating audiences across the UK, blending modular hooks and minimalist forms with traditional rhythms. Tarren is gaining a reputation for tight musicianship and intricate arrangements, all played through a playful prism that reflects the character of the artists and takes the listener to emotional heights.

Gabriel Moreno and The Quivering Poets

Gabriel Moreno is Gibraltarian singer-songwriter, currently based in London. An irresistibly engaging performer, he combines a latin exuberance and passion with a rare lyrical calibre (he is also an accomplished poet, with 12 books published to date). Performing on nylon string guitar and accompanied by The Quivering Poets, he creates a live experience that has been described as ”Taberna Folk” - at once both energetic and intimate, anarchic and absorbing.

Katie Grace Harris

Katie Grace Harris is a multi-tasking, foot tapping, piano, dulcimer and accordion playing singer and story-weaver. Inspired by real stories of social injustice and with a fast-growing reputation in the UK Folk world, her sound has been described as 'boot-thumping, heart filling contemporary British folk’.

This Is Your Musical

Inspired by stories from the audience, the talented and quick-witted actors will instantly spin a brand-new musical tale, complete with characters, songs and choreography, all accompanied by an amazing improvising musician.

Steve Pledger is a multi-award-winning recording artist with an enviable reputation as a talented and dynamic performer. With writing that ranges from fragile reflections on love and loss to blistering commentaries on present circumstances, his songs pack an emotional punch, both on record and on stage.

Suthering – Folk Duo

SUTHERING consists of Julu and Heg, whose harmonies weave effortlessly through their original songs, paired with gentle guitar and emotive piano arrangements, transporting audiences into a world of timeless storytelling. Front Room is thrilled to welcome them back for a third year running.
