SUMMARY:Orpheus Dismembered
DESCRIPTION:The Crick Crack Club presents: ORPHEUS DISMEMBERED – Performance storytelling by Ben Haggarty. Music by Jonah Brody. \nNo remembering without forgetting…\nNo rebirth without death…\nNo ascent without descent…\nThese are the mysteries. \nStoryteller Ben Haggarty\, and musician Jonah Brody\, become guides to the dark places. Enter a subterranean dreamscape to meet Dionysus – God of Wine\, born once from his mother and again from Zeus; Orpheus who can only find love through separation; Eurydice and Persephone eternally bound to the land of the dead; and Aphrodite scattering the seeds of chaos through which we must wade to find sense. \nBen Haggarty reads between the lines of Greek Mythology to restores them to their terrifying and truly awesome glory. This is world-class storytelling – dark\, magical\, and provocative. \nWhatever you do – don’t look back… \n‘BLOODY BRILLIANT’ Time Out \n‘Ben Haggarty is a monumentally effective storyteller…the moment he opens his mouth he has the\naudience in the palm of his hand. Then\, slowly\, he closes that palm into a fist\, squeezing us\,\ncranking up the tension\, etching vivid pictures into our imagination’ **** London City Nights \nA TOUR-DE-FORCE OF STORYTELLING **** Remote Goat\n‘STORYTELLING GENIUS’ ***** Brighton Fringe\n‘I WAS SPELL-BOUND\, I DON’T USE THE WORD LIGHTLY’ The Times \nBen Haggarty is celebrated for his uncompromising\, elemental channelling of Greek Mythology.\nJonah Brody is a multi-instrumentalist through whom music pours into the world. \nSuitable for adults (16+) \n\n\n\nEvent Details\nDoors Open at 7:00PM\nFrom 7:30PM to 9:30PM

SUMMARY:Pixiematosis
DESCRIPTION:Unhinged puppetry for adults and older children. \n\nFront Room is thrilled to welcome back The Object Project with their brilliant show\, Pixiematosis. Do not miss it this time around! \nEverything was perfect in the midnight garden. The flowers grew\, the fairies flew\, the grobbity grobbits danced a merry dance in the twinkly moonlight. \n\nThen one day\, without warning\, the deranged gardener from next door threw the shed door wide\, and the pixies of this nocturnal paradise realised\, far too late\, that they were being exploited for a distinctly sinister purpose. \nCome along\, be charmed\, be appalled; get swept up in a story of greed and the existential madness of it all. \nFeaturing sqwonky puppets\, odd-automata and a slew of charity-shop rejects\, ‘Pixiematosis’ is not unlike watching a lost episode of Bagpuss\, filmed by the Tales of the Unexpected crew… or witnessing Fingermouse being folded up and used to stop a pub table wobbling. \n“There is a lot of love in this show. Surprises; delightful and traumatic. Laughter and horror. I highly recommend it.” – Audience member\, Ashburton Arts Centre \n\n\n\nEvent Details\nDoors Open at 7:00PM\nFrom 7:30PM to 8:30PM
