SUMMARY:TURN YOUR F***ING PHONES OFF - Work In Progress Sharing and Long Table Discussion
DESCRIPTION:Join multi-award-winning theatremaker Hannah Maxwell for the very first public sharing of her new show\, TURN YOUR F***ING PHONES OFF. A dark\, absurd and fiercely hopeful exploration of human connection in the Information Age. \n\nWeston-super-mare gets the first look at this thrilling and vital new work from one of the UK’s most exciting writer-performers\, as voted for by audiences at last year’s BABYFLEAREINDEERBAG (“delightfully meta” ★★★★  The Guardian). \n\nAudiences will be invited to feedback on this work-in-progress performance\, in development for premiere at this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe. There will also be a free flowing discussion about infotech\, social media and being human in an increasingly atomised and polarised world\, using the “Long Table” discussion format developed by performance artist Lois Weaver. \n\n\nEvent Details\nDoors Open at 7:00PM\nFrom 7:30PM to 9:00PM

SUMMARY:Running Commentary
DESCRIPTION:After a decade of no exercise (besides child-rearing and reaching for cake) 41 year old poet P Burton-Morgan finds themselves newly single and hungry to return to pre-childbirth levels of fitness. Cue Rocky montage\, but with a middle-aged red-faced mum reciting sonnets on the South West Coast path. So far so solitary until they join their local running club and find themselves drawn into a world of flirting\, friendship\, fierce competition and the unexpected discovery that they’re ferociously fast. With their trademark mix of witty wordplay and open-hearted tenderness this solo show is a silly\, sexy\, sweaty romp – don’t forget to stretch first. \nBetter known for their work as a writer & director – Sherlock Holmes and the PoisonWood (Watermill)\, The Little Prince (Taunton Brewhouse) and In the Willows (Exeter Northcott & 16 week UK tour)\, Ledbury Poetry-Slam-winning poet\, P Burton-Morgan\, returns with a new solo poetry show after the success of their barn-storming 2025 production Explaining Being Pan to Nan (Oxford Playhouse & UK Tour). \n‘Saucy\, hilarious and unexpectedly tender’ – Luke Wright on Explaining Being Pan to Nan \nReviews for P Burton-Morgan’s recent productions:\nSherlock Holmes & The Poisonwood\, The Watermill 2024\n★★★★★ ‘gripping\, eye-opening and funny\, a real must-see’ What’sOnStage\n★★★★ ‘cracking songs\, slick staging\, a triumph’ The Stage\n★★★★ ‘intelligent\, excellent\, never fails to impress’ Musical Theatre Review\nIn The Willows\, UK tour 2019\n★★★★★ ‘something for every generation to enjoy… absolutely incredible’ LondonTheatre1\n★★★★★ ‘nothing short of absolute brilliance’ Reviews Hub\n★★★★ ‘brilliantly original and delightfully funny… irresistible’ Daily Mail \n\n\nEvent Details\nDoors Open at 7:00PM\nFrom 7:30PM to 8:30PM

SUMMARY:All of Them\, Dead
DESCRIPTION:In a global pandemic caused by infected meat\, two boys find they’re much less alone than they thought. \n  \nAll Of Them\, Dead is a play about being young\, gay and working-class in the middle of nowhere. It’s about the things that go unsaid\, it’s about two boys holding hands\, it’s about clinging together as the world changes around you. And it’s about meat falling from the sky (no\, really). \n  \nPerfect for fans of Heartstopper and The Day Of The Triffids\, All Of Them\, Dead is a sharp\, funny and touching queer love story for the end of the world.  \nTrigger Warnings – Strong language\, gore\, references to homophobic abuse\, violence and death. \n\n\n\nEvent Details\nDoors Open at 7:00PM\nFrom 7:30PM to 8:50PM
