SUMMARY:5Rhythms® Ecstatic Dance with Jon Ralls
DESCRIPTION:You Love Dancing to Great Music … but not the late nights\, substances and selfies?! \nYou’re not alone! \nThe 5Rhythms® is the original\, the mother of modern ecstatic dance practices. A simple\, powerful moving meditation that anyone – of any age\, size\, or physical ability – can practise. Lightly guided\, there are no steps to follow\, no choreography to learn\, no way to do it wrong. The only requirement is a body that is still breathing\, a heart that is still beating\, and mind that is still curious! \nCreated by Gabrielle Roth and practiced by tens of thousands worldwide\, 5Rhythms is a philosophy\, perspective\, performance art and a dynamic movement practice rooted in the principle that if you put the psyche in motion it will heal itself. Movement is both the medicine and the metaphor\, reaching across all languages\, cultures and age groups to transform suffering into art\, art into awareness\, and awareness into action. Wherever the 5Rhythms are practiced\, a community is born to dance\, to sweat\, to change\, to support\, and to provide a safe space for each of us to shatter the ego’s hold and awaken the juicy\, unpredictable\, fascinating\, edge-walking\, rock star part of ourselves that yearns to be free. \nCreativity. Connection. Community. \n  \nJon has been dancing the 5Rhythms since 2008\, and completed the 2023/24 5Rhythms Waves Teacher Training programme. He currently holds weekly 5Rhythms Classes in Weston-super-Mare\, and covers classes in Bristol and elsewhere when other teachers are away. Jon’s profile on 5rhythms.com: https://www.5rhythms.com/teachers/Jon+Ralls \n“I am endlessly captivated by the depth\, subtlety and simplicity of our practice\, always returning — especially when our busy old heads go off on one — to the ground of our practice… feet and breath\, feet and breath…” – Jon Ralls\, Accredited 5Rhythms Teacher \n  \nDETAILS: \nTwice monthly on the first and third Sundays of the month\, 11:00am – 1:00pm \n11am start – please arrive a little early to get ready and warm up (you will otherwise have to cross the ‘dance floor’ to deposit bags\, coats\, shoes!) \nTickets: \n£12/£10 booked online (by 9:00pm the night before) – see In-Rhythm website below for details and booking link; £15 drop-in (card/cash on the door) \nFull details are on the booking link \n  \n  \n
